A Russian citizen, suspected of killing three people at a shooting range in Danilovgrad, has been found dead in a forest area in Herceg Novi, after a clash with police forces.

According to Montenegrin authorities, Mihail Šabunjin, 30, was located in the area above the Topla neighborhood by special forces and other units of the Montenegrin Police. When the officers surrounded him, he allegedly opened fire on them and then shot himself in the head.

The serious incident had occurred the day before at the “Češka zbrojevka” shooting range in Danilovgrad. According to information made public by the Montenegrin authorities and media, the victims are Nemanja Kapor, 20 years old, Petar Globarević, 24 years old, and Momir Radonjić, 67 years old. All three worked at the range.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the attack began shortly before 5:00 p.m. Šabunjin is suspected of first shooting the range instructor, Petar Globarević, and then killing Radonjić and Kapor. The victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

The owner of the range, who was sleeping in one of the facility's rooms at the time of the incident, managed to escape the attack.
