The leader of Vetëvendosje, Albin Kurti, and the leader of LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, have reached an agreement on the name that will be proposed for the new President of Kosovo.

After meetings and discussions between the two leaders, the name selected is that of Professor Doctor Bekim Sejdiu.

The news was announced by Abdixhiku, who said that negotiations between the two parties have been intense and have been conducted with the aim of finding a figure who can have broad support.

"We have had long meetings, with continuous and quite intense discussions. Both sides have been committed to determining a consensual name for the President of the Republic of Kosovo. During the discussions, many names of prominent personalities were mentioned who have support both among the people and in many places in Kosovo, who have made professional and national contributions to our society and who have democratic and state values. Of all the names that were proposed and reviewed, among whom all were distinguished individuals, during joint discussions we agreed on one name and that is Professor Doctor Bekim Sejdiu. Professor Doctor Sejdiu's career is distinguished and rich, with diverse experience and important positions ," said Abdixhiku.
