McGonigal's ex-girlfriend, who spoke about his relationship with Edi Rama, is found dead

Allison Guerriero, the ex-girlfriend of Charles McGonigal, the former director of counterintelligence for the FBI in New York, has been found dead in her South Florida apartment. 

The news was reported by the "Daily Mail" , which writes that the 52-year-old passed away just a few hours after publishing dozens of posts on the X platform.

Guerriero's death brings to mind one of the people who had provided information about McGonigal's activities and who had also spoken publicly about his travels to Albania and relations with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

According to the Daily Mail, Guerriero had posted about 75 posts on X on Thursday, including one in which she was seen walking down the street and calling for attention to other federal officials. In another post, she said: "I hate the FBI."

Guerriero was in a relationship with Charles McGonigal and later became one of the people who provided American authorities with information on the former FBI official's activities.

Her case took on particular importance because of the information she had provided about McGonigal's contacts outside the United States.

In her statements, Guerriero also spoke about Albania and McGonigal's relationship with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

According to the information provided by her, McGonigal had told her that he would travel to Albania to meet with Rama.

" He was going to Albania to meet with Prime Minister Edi Rama," Guerriero had stated, explaining that he had not been told the exact purpose of the meeting.

She also stated that McGonigal and Rama had a personal relationship and that the former American official often spoke about the Albanian prime minister.

became part of the materials that American authorities reviewed during the investigation into McGonigal.

The Albanian case received great attention after the publication of the American indictment against McGonigal, where Albania, Albanian businessmen, and the name of Prime Minister Edi Rama were mentioned in the court documents.

However, the mention of Rama's name in the indictment did not mean that the prime minister was accused by American justice of any criminal offense.

The dossier that shook the FBI
Charles McGonigal was one of the FBI's top leaders and headed the counterintelligence office in New York before retiring.

He faced two criminal cases in the United States. In one of them, he was accused of concealing financial relations with a former Albanian intelligence official and receiving payments related to his activities.

In another case, McGonigal was accused of violating US sanctions on Russia after receiving payments from Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.

He was found guilty and sentenced to prison.

It was precisely this dossier that placed Albania at the center of one of the most sensational scandals involving a former senior FBI official.

Guerriero's Death
Now, the sudden death of Allison Guerriero has brought her testimony and the role she played in exposing her former partner's activities back into focus.

According to the Daily Mail, she passed away at her home in South Florida, just hours after being active on social media.
