Naples Camorra leader Raffaele Afeltra executed

The head of the Camorra in the city of Naples, Raffaele Afeltra, 69, has been executed. It is learned that Afeltrau was shot by yet-to-be-identified people.

The 69-year-old had recently been released from prison, while his name had been linked to the organized crime world in the Naples area for years.

Raffaele Afeltra was considered one of the historical figures of the Afeltra-Di Martino clan, also known as the Monti Lattari clan, a criminal group with roots in the Neapolitan area. His murder brings back to mind the activity of criminal organizations and the old balances between the Camorra groups.

Immediately after the attack, the carabinieri of the Castellammare di Stabia company and the officers of the Torre Annunziata Investigative Unit arrived at the scene. 

Investigators are working to uncover the motive for the murder and whether it is related to a possible clash between criminal groups, an internal conflict or a revenge related to Afeltra's previous activity.
