Body found in Seman still unidentified, DNA analysis awaited

The identification of the decomposed body found in the Seman estuary on Friday was not possible following preliminary examination at the Fier morgue.

For this reason, the victim's body has been sent for further analysis to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, where in addition to the analysis to determine the age, cause and exact time of death, a DNA analysis will also be performed.

Through this analysis, it is expected that the body's physical characteristics, such as weight and height, will be determined, as well as a comparison with the DNA of several family members who have reported their relatives as having left their homes.

Sources from the Fier police said that the body is male and that during the preliminary forensic examination no signs of violence were found. There are several families, one in Fier and others in several cities in the country that have reported the removal of their relatives from their homes.

Examining the stage of decomposition of the body at the time it was found by authorities, forensic doctors in Fier confirmed that the time of death was estimated to be about two months ago.

During this period, reports of missing citizens were also made, for which scientific verifications are being carried out.
