Critical situation with fires in Ulëz i Mati, several homes at risk

For more than 24 hours, the situation from the fires in the Trodhene area in the Ulëz Administrative Unit of the Mat Municipality continues to be critical.

Three fires have been activated in the area, despite the engagement of forces on the ground and air intervention yesterday, it has not been possible to isolate the flames.

Strong winds, high temperatures, and difficult mountainous terrain have favored the rapid spread of the fire, pushing the situation out of control.

According to information received on the ground, several homes in the village of Lundre are at risk, as the flames are spreading towards the homes, both from the Trodhene area and from Lundre.

The difficult terrain makes it almost impossible for firefighting vehicles to intervene, while employees of the Mat Municipality, the fire service, and forestry service employees are continuing their efforts to isolate and extinguish the flames.
