Vlora/ 78-year-old man dies after being hit by car while riding his bicycle

A tragic road accident occurred this Sunday morning in Vlora, where a 78-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a vehicle. The incident occurred at around 07:15, near the former Train Station.

According to the police, the 57-year-old citizen with the initials V. Xh., residing in Vlora, was arrested in flagrante delicto after, while driving, he hit 78-year-old FS, who was riding a bicycle.

The elderly man was transported for medical assistance to the Vlora Regional Hospital, but despite the intervention of doctors, he died.

"Vlora/Specialists of the Urban and Interurban Traffic Section at the Vlora Police Department arrested citizen V. Xh., 57 years old, resident of Vlora, in flagrante delicto, for the criminal offense of "Violation of traffic rules", after today, at around 07:15, near the former Train Station, while driving, he hit citizen FS, 78 years old, resident of Vlora, who was riding a bicycle. As a result of the accident, the 78-year-old was transported for medical assistance to the Vlora Regional Hospital, where he later died. The investigation team continues to work to fully clarify the circumstances and determine the cause of the accident," the police statement said.
