From today, buses are expected to be reduced; associations demand fuel

Starting today, the number of buses that will be available to the citizens of Tirana is expected to be reduced.

This measure was announced a day ago by Urban and Interurban Public Transport, which announced that the bus fleet is expected to be reduced by 20-30%.

In a request addressed to the Prime Minister, the Municipality of Tirana and the relevant ministries, the associations request compensation for the price of fuel, emphasizing that the financial situation has worsened. 

"Starting from 01.09.2026, public transport operators will be forced to operate with a reduced fleet of around 20–30%, depending on the financial and operational capacity that each operator currently has available," the associations stated.
