Albania 5.2 times 'more expensive' than the EU, Berisha: Greece lowers

DP leader Sali Berisha has condemned the government's indifference in the face of the galloping price increase, which is weighing on the pockets of Albanian citizens.

From the blue headquarters, Berisha pointed out the easing measures that the neighboring country, Greece, has undertaken by intervening in product prices, while comparing it to the Albanian government, which remains negligent.

 

The leader of the Democrat Party emphasized that prices in Albania have increased 5.2 times more compared to EU countries, and in addition, the government has taken zero measures to help its citizens.

"The government of the neighboring country, Greece, has decided to reduce the prices of 1,600 items by 5 percent to 30 percent. Prices of basic food, prices of all school supplies for children, prices of widely used items by consumers at home. 

So, Greece, although its citizens have an average salary four times higher than Albanian citizens and prices clearly lower than in Albania, still considers prices extremely burdensome for citizens and makes a very important intervention to ease the burden on its citizens.

Meanwhile, prices in Albania, according to the latest statistics, food prices in Albania increased this year 5 times more than the average of EU countries. And the government has zero reaction. So prices have increased this year compared to the average increase in food prices in the EU, 5.2 times more. And the government is taking zero action.

"The indifference of Edi Rama and his government towards this situation goes beyond the most inhumane attitudes," Berisha declared.
