Balkan Champion denounces the Athletics Federation: They didn't take me to

Another complaint raises questions about the support provided to Albanian athletes. This time it is athlete David Nikolli, Balkan Champion, with 8 medals and 12 national records, who has accused the Albanian Athletics Federation of leaving him out of the delegation for the Mediterranean Games for political reasons.

In a video posted on social media, Nikolli claims that his exclusion is related to his participation in anti-government protests. According to the athlete, he had been preparing for about a year with the aim of competing in this competition, but in the end the Federation decided to select other athletes.

Nikolli emphasizes that just a month before the Mediterranean Games, he had triumphed in the National Championship in two competitions, considering the decision not to include him in the team unjustified.

"I became an undesirable athlete after I went to protests and spoke what I think is right and true," he says, adding that he has refused to compromise or succumb to pressure.

The athlete has also criticized the Federation's leaders, claiming that they participate in sports activities and stay in hotels, while not providing the necessary support for athletes representing Albania.
