26-year-old Egzon Bytyçi, suspected of murdering his pregnant wife in Malisheva, has died in hospital. The young man was seriously injured by gunfire after the serious incident on August 23 and had been under the care of doctors since then.

The news of his death was confirmed by the Police spokesman for the Gjakova region, Sheremet Elezaj. 

The incident took place in the village of Kërvasari, Malisheva, where Bytyçi is suspected of shooting his wife, 25-year-old Jetlira Foniqi, with a firearm.

The young woman was in her 34th week of pregnancy when she was killed.

The police have announced that investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident continue in coordination with the competent prosecutor.
