PDK and AAK protest again in front of the Government building in Pristina

PDK MPs, assembly members, directors and activists of this entity in Pristina, together with MPs of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, protested again today in front of the Government building in Pristina, demanding that the acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the ministers vacate the building, calling them "usurpers".

Protest participants called on Kurti not to violate the Constitution, but to return to the Assembly and enable the continuation of the constitutive session.

PDK MP Blerta Deliu declared that Kurti and his ministers are "usurpers" and demanded that they return to the Assembly to pave the way for the creation of new institutions. According to her, the country is facing stagnation and the consequences are being felt by citizens. 

"We are here to reiterate once again our demand for the return of constitutionality and legality. So, we are telling Albin Kurti two things today bluntly. The first is that he and his ministers, who are in this building, are usurpers and must vacate this building. And the second is that they must return to the Assembly and pave the way for the creation of new institutions for the country," she said. 

Alliance MP Besnik Tahiri also spoke at the protest, calling Kurti a "recidivist violator of the Constitution" and accusing him of blocking the constitution of the Parliament.

The PDK and the Alliance demand the continuation of the constitutive session of the Assembly, which began on August 6 and was interrupted due to the lack of a political agreement.

The institutional crisis arose after the June 7 elections, held after the parties failed to reach an agreement on electing a president after the end of Vjosa Osmani's term.

LVV won 53 seats in the Assembly, PDK 22, LDK 18 and AAK seven. For the election of the president, the Constitution requires the presence of at least 80 deputies in the hall in the first two rounds of voting.
