Deadlock in Kosovo, PDK and AAK postpone the continuation of the constitutive

The Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party of Kosovo will meet today at 11:00 in the hall of the Kosovo Assembly, as part of efforts to request the continuation of the constitutive session and the constitution of the new legislature.

The PDK announced a day ago that it has again sent a request to the chairman of the constitutive session, Avni Dehari, to call for the continuation of the session, referring to the Constitution, the judgments of the Constitutional Court and the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly.

The AAK is also expected to participate in this action. The party's MP, Albana Bytyqi, declared that the Alliance's MPs will join the PDK in the Assembly, reiterating the position that new institutions should be formed as soon as possible.

The crisis over the constitution of the Assembly has been ongoing for weeks. The constitutional deadline for the constitution of the Assembly ended on August 7, 30 days after the certification of the election results.

In the August 6 session, the leader of Vetëvendosje, Albin Kurti, requested more time for talks regarding the election of the President, while the same request was repeated in the continuation of the session on August 8.

The chairman of the session, Avni Dehari, approved the request for adjournment, but since that day, another session has not been called.

Meanwhile, diplomatic missions of foreign countries in Kosovo have called for overcoming the political impasse and the formation of institutions, warning of the consequences and loss of opportunities as a result of the prolongation of the crisis.
