A serious incident has shaken the Nea Zmirni neighborhood in Athens, where a 45-year-old woman and a man lost their lives in circumstances suspected to be related to a conflict over jealous motives.

According to Top Channel sources, the two victims are suspected to be of Albanian origin. The 45-year-old woman has a Greek identification document, while according to preliminary data she was born in Albania.

The incident occurred at the entrance of a building, where the couple allegedly got into an argument. The situation escalated when the man pulled out a gun and shot the 45-year-old several times, killing her on the spot.

Moments later, the same person allegedly used the gun to end his life, shooting himself in the head. The gun was found under the woman's body.

From the preliminary examination of the bodies, the coroner allegedly determined that the woman was the victim of a murder, while the man had committed suicide.

Investigators also have access to footage from the building's security cameras, which recorded the moments of the incident. This has helped the police reconstruct the dynamics and identify the shooter.

According to preliminary information, the victim lived in the area, where her daughter also lived. It has not yet been confirmed whether the 45-year-old woman and the man were married. It is suspected that they had an intimate relationship, which may have ended in a fatal conflict.
