Intercity Transport Association: If oil is not compensated, we will reduce buses

The President of the National Intercity Transport Association, Kostandin Foni, has warned that the number of buses will be reduced by up to 50% if institutions do not respond to their demands.

In an interview with News24, he said that they are expected to hold a meeting tomorrow to discuss their demands.

"If we do not react within a week, operators are forced to reduce to 40 or 50 percent in order to avoid degradation and closure ," he said.

"We have requested the removal of fuel excise. As long as the legislation we have for some sectors can remove fuel excise, it is possible to do so, why not for this sector?"

Operators cannot change the ticket price without a decision of the municipal council for urban transport and without a decision of the council of ministers for interurban transport. We have requested the abolition of the circulation tax per liter of fuel.  ", he emphasized.
