Arrest of 14 protesters, activist: Police are acting on political orders

 Activist Sidorela Vatnikaj has reacted after the escorting and arrest of 14 protesters during the protest the previous day in front of the Prime Minister's Office.

In a statement to News24, Vatnikaj said that the protesters had not provoked the police and that the intervention of law enforcement has increased their concern about what he described as "police violence and repression."

"After a protest for 94 days, yesterday without any provocation we saw their illegal and violent arrest. The police have been notified every day about the protest. We are concerned by the violence and police repression. Violence does not stop us and we will continue our protest.

We have long denounced that the police are acting on political orders. The fact that Rama has shamelessly provoked the protesters by standing in the prime minister's office and being surrounded on all sides has created that kind of tension on the part of the police.

"The protesters were peaceful. They were there to show Rama that he does not represent us and that he should resign," she said.
