Terrorist attack in Banjska, indictment filed against another person

The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has filed an indictment against SR, on suspicion of participation in the terrorist attack in Banjska, Zvečan, on September 24, 2023.

According to the Prosecution's announcement, the indictment was submitted on Monday to the Basic Court in Pristina, for the criminal offenses of "Committing a terrorist act" and "Serious offenses against the constitutional order and security of the Republic of Kosovo."

According to the indictment, the defendant SR, together with the other persons included in the indictment filed on September 11, 2024, is suspected of having participated in the attack on Kosovo Police officials, as part of a structured and heavily armed terrorist group.

As a result of the attack in Banjska, Kosovo Police Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed, while a police officer was wounded and several others were injured.

The prosecution claims that the group's goal was to destabilize Kosovo's constitutional structures and secede the northern part of the country, with the aim of uniting it with Serbia.
