Fewer police officers in front of the Prime Minister's Office, but cameras and patrol cars on standby, police change strategy

Fewer police officers in front of the Prime Minister's Office, but cameras

Unlike the previous days of the student protest, a more limited police presence is observed in front of the Prime Minister's Office in Tirana, while security measures around the government building remain in force.

On the 13th day of the revolt, the police seem to have changed their approach, allowing citizens to gather in front of the Prime Minister's Office, unlike the situation the day before. However, this does not mean that security measures have been lifted.

High-resolution cameras have been installed on the terrace of the government building, through which the movement of protesters can be monitored and the people present at the rally can be identified.

Meanwhile, the water tanker remains on standby, as a measure for intervention in case of escalation of the situation. Despite the smaller number of officers on the ground, the presence of special vehicles and monitoring equipment indicates that the police continue to monitor developments in front of the government building.

These measures come after tensions in recent days, during which injuries have been reported and allegations of excessive use of force by the police have been raised.
