Serbia closed the Vučić chapter, Albania must close the Rama chapter!

The result of October 25 in Serbia marks the end of a model of power built around one man, where the party, institutions, media and economy were in function and at his service. This model was defeated from within, thanks to the unity of all those who opposed it in every form and on every front, and it turned into an electoral majority.
Vučić's defeat also has a European dimension. Serbia clearly rejected the myopic formula "stability in exchange for democracy". It is enough to read the comments of Serbian citizens under the European Commission's congratulations on the victory of the Student List. There it is repeated with anger that until yesterday Brussels had abandoned the citizens and had given support to Vučić and his regime.
Against this background, Edi Rama's silence is understandable and not at all surprising. While most capitals have congratulated the Student List on its victory, so far Edi Rama has not said a single sentence. This silence is, in fact, his most sincere statement.
For more than a decade, Rama's regional policy was built on a personal axis with Vučić. The partition of Kosovo, the Open Balkans, joint proposals for a partial EU membership, and a relationship so close that Vučić himself calls Rama his greatest asset in Albania, while Michael Martens would call him the best Serbian prime minister since Pashič.
While Edi Rama is silent, the best news for Albanians came from the Valley. In Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa, Albanian entities put aside rivalries and competed with a single list. Their representation in the Serbian Parliament increased to two deputies, with the possibility of a third term.
The Serbian case also refutes the most used argument by the regime in Tirana, that "economic growth" is enough to justify unlimited power. Vučić was defeated even though Serbia has a much better economic situation than Albania, with a per capita income of around 17 thousand dollars, and exports around 35 billion euros per year, almost nine times more than us. From Serbia, with around 7 million inhabitants, only 500,000 people have left, compared to more than a million from Albania within a decade.
Let's not forget that Vučić was defeated even though the opposition in Serbia was non-existent. In Albania, on the contrary, the opposition has been the only force that has denounced and protested against the narco-state throughout this decade, even when its every effort was relativized by Rama's "special friends", even when anger was extinguished with tear gas and propagandists who were more concerned about the fate of the prime ministerial mushroom than the fate of the country.
So if a country with these indicators like Serbia managed to defeat the regime, the "there is no alternative" argument in Tirana is over.
The cup was full and now it is pouring.
Serbia closed the Vučić chapter.
Albania must close the Rama chapter!
