European Democrats: Rama is trying to politically benefit from Vishkull's

The European Democrats have reacted again to Prime Minister Edi Rama, this time for the injury of 28-year-old Erjon Vishkulli during student protests in Tirana, where they have demanded an independent investigation and accountability for the people involved.

In their statement, they claim that the young man was shot in the eye with a rubber bullet by the police and that his eyesight is in danger. For this reason, they demand an independent investigation into the incident and an end to the disproportionate use of force by the officers.

"We demand an independent investigation, accountability and an end to disproportionate police violence ," the European Democrats said in a statement.

According to them, the prime minister is trying to take personal credit for organizing Vishkull's medical treatment, a claim that, according to the statement, has been publicly denied by his family.

"Mr. Rama, protecting citizens is your duty, not an act of personal generosity. Medical care is a right, not a favor from the prime minister ," the reaction emphasizes.

They demand that attention be focused on clarifying the circumstances of the incident and the possible responsibility of the persons involved.

" Albania needs responsibility, not political self-promotion at the expense of a wounded young man ," the statement concludes.
