Erjon Vishkulli, 28, was left with a serious injury to his left eye after being shot with rubber bullets by police during Saturday's protest. The young man was transported to Italy today for more specialized treatment, after initial surgery failed to remove the foreign body from his eye.

Rama himself attempted to use this serious case as a propaganda tool, when he said that he had personally taken care of Vishkulli's treatment.

"Since I personally took care last night of ensuring the boy's treatment in the best hospital in Italy, as well as his transport on a medical plane, I say to all those who are savagely misusing his injured eye to further incite violence ," Rama said.

But the injured man's sister has completely refuted the prime minister's propaganda, claiming that the treatment would be attended to by the Vishkulli family itself, their friends and supporters, and not the state.

"To become the protagonist of the event himself and to turn the issue into politics by declaring that orders have been given to cover the costs of the operations ," writes Erjon Vishkulli's sister.
