Renowned singer Irma Libohova has reacted harshly to police interventions against protesters in Tirana, demanding an end to violence and the removal of the government.

Through a message on social media, the artist expressed her outrage at the way citizens who have taken to the streets to protest are being treated.

In her reaction, Libohova came to the defense of mothers, women, girls and students, calling violence against them unacceptable.

"Oh, the state has gone! The knife has gone to the bone.
Hands off mothers, children, girls and women! Away!

With protest!" she wrote.
