Three days of silence, Mirela Kumbaro wakes up, says not a word about violence

After three days of silence, Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro reacted today to the student protest. Without saying a word about police violence against students, Kumbaro claimed that young people are being abused.

Kumbaro called on parents to take care of their children and not allow them to be put in danger. The call comes at a time when footage from the protests in Tirana has shown clashes between police and young people, including high school students, as well as violent interventions by officers against protesters.

In her response, the minister focused on the risk of abuse of young people, without taking a direct stance on the violence reported during police interventions. Meanwhile, protesters continue to demand the government's resignation.
