A video circulated widely on social media where several people without uniforms or police identification badges forcibly escorted a citizen through the streets of the capital and forced him into a van, again without a logo.

The police have reacted to the case in question, not denying the footage of the violent escort. In their response, the police only specify that it was not a woman, but a man, who was forcibly dragged into the van by unknown individuals.

"Regarding several videos published on social networks, where it is alleged that some civilians have forcibly escorted a female citizen, Tirana Police clarifies that the person escorted is male and not female.

"The escort was carried out by Criminal Police officers, as part of the actions taken to identify and escort persons suspected of involvement in illegal actions during the protest, as it is suspected that this citizen was leading the protesters and throwing metal dice at Police officers and institutions ," the police statement said.
