MEP Salis: The revolt against the Rama government could mark a turning point for

MEP Ilaria Salis has reacted to the student revolt in Albania, which has entered its third day, emphasizing that they have taken to the streets against Edi Rama's government, after months of protests by the Flamingo movement.

In a reaction on social media, she writes that young Albanians are protesting economic hardship, corruption and lack of perspective, sparking a true popular uprising that could mark a turning point in the country's history.

Reaction:

A popular protest is igniting in Albania! After months of mobilization by the “Flamingo Movement” — in which I personally participated, traveling to Tirana last June to express my support — the protests have intensified significantly over the past two days.

Students have taken to the streets against Edi Rama's government to denounce cuts to education, growing economic hardship, corruption and a lack of prospects, sparking a genuine popular uprising that could mark a turning point in the country's history.
The discontent is deep and widespread; more and more people are choosing to channel their anger and frustration into a collective struggle.

From Madrid to Tirana, passing through France, a wind of rebellion and protest is sweeping across the continent. This is the best version of Europe: the one that takes to the streets. And it is precisely from this Europe of war that we must draw inspiration and new energy for a political project that is capable of transforming our society on a progressive basis.
