The police ask parents to protect their children, but who will protect them from

Durrës Street, and not only, has turned into a 'war zone' in the last three days, following student protests that began as a revolt against the Rama government.

Eggs, stones, tear gas, rubber batons, protesters lying down, injured, dragged... This is just a glimpse of the panorama of the last few days that has been accompanying Tirana, and which today spread to cities like Korça, Shkodra, Vlora and Durrës.

The protest was also joined by high school students who today, it seems, were on the front lines of the war, and yet, even though they were minors, they were not spared from police violence. The officers unleashed savagely on the minors who demand nothing more than Rama's resignation, for a better education system, a future where there is no need to buy meritocracy with money, and a police force that protects them.

Lying on the ground, dragged, high school students in Tirana were raped by officers who were beyond their age. The police chased them from behind and hit them with rubber batons, and even did not spare minors who were simply standing on the sidewalk. Some were forcibly escorted away, their mouths gagged, and others were slapped.

In a recent statement, the State Police appealed to parents to take care of their children and not allow them to participate in the protest as "these are violent actions that endanger life, health and the future."

But in fact, the police forget that those young people, even at a young age, have come out in protest to prevent their future from being stolen, misused for the interests and greed of a narrow circle of politicians. What future are the police talking about when today the young people have taken to the squares demanding the resignation of a prime minister who ignores their calls and revolt?

And the other question that arises: if you ask parents to protect their children, who will protect those children from your violence? The State Police should be a shield for the citizens, the youth and the minors who today are leading the whole of Albania, except for the Prime Minister and the satellites he keeps in the government.
