The situation at the youth protest near the Ministry of Education in Tirana has escalated, with moments of violence recorded during clashes with the Police.
Footage from the scene shows police officers hitting protesters with rubber batons. Meanwhile, water cannons and tear gas were also used against the crowd in an attempt to disperse the protesters.
At one point, a police officer is seen gagging a protester during the intervention, while shots were also fired at the young people with rubber batons.
The protest of students and high school students continues amid tensions, while the intervention of law enforcement has led to strong clashes in the area near the ministry.
