From North to South, high school students and students take to the streets: Rama

The protest against the government and in support of students in Tirana is spreading to other cities in the country. This Friday, October 16, students have abandoned classes and auditoriums, taking to the streets to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

In Gramsh, a group of young people organized a protest against the government, while in Burrel high school students took to the streets chanting “Rama, resign!” Students in Kamëz also joined the boycott of classes, where young people appeared with the national flag in their hands and chanted “Revolution.”

In Lezha, high school students, mainly from the “Hydajet Lezha” school, skipped class to join the protest. Clashes were reported between police and students during the gathering, while the presence of officers near key institutions in the city was increased.

Meanwhile, in Elbasan, hundreds of young people, including students and pupils, gathered again in protest against the government. The movement has also spread to the country's universities: in Vlora, the boycott of classes continues, while students are expected to protest in front of the rectorate at 10:00. In Durrës, meanwhile, the university premises were empty this morning.

The high school students' take to the streets and the boycott of universities mark the expansion of the protest beyond Tirana, where students have been demanding the government's resignation for days.
