After the student protest, Rama cancels the meeting with the Socialists

The expanded meeting of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group and the government cabinet, scheduled for this Wednesday at the Brigades Palace, has been canceled, a day after the tense student protest in front of the Ministry of Education and violent clashes with the police.

The meeting was called by Prime Minister Edi Rama for 12:00 and was expected to bring together Socialist MPs and cabinet ministers. According to the agenda, discussions would focus on two issues designated as “Loyal Presence” and “Albania’s Mirror”.

The cancellation of the meeting comes in a tense climate following the student protest demanding changes in education and the resignation of the prime minister, which was accompanied by unprecedented violence by the police.
