Against in the group, but voted for 'Territoriale' in the Assembly, Sinaj tells how he 'surrendered' to the party's ultimatum

Against in the group, but voted for 'Territoriale' in the Assembly,

Socialist Party MP, Vullnet Sinaj, has explained the reasons that led him to vote in favor of the new territorial reform, despite the fact that in the first vote within the parliamentary group he had expressed opposition.

Invited to News24, Sinaj said that two votes were held within the SP parliamentary group. In the first, he confirmed that he had voted against the reform, while in the second vote, when the group decided to support the new territorial division, he chose to join the majority position.

"I want to clarify for the entire public that two votes were held in the SP parliamentary group. There was a vote on who is for and who is against. I voted against the reform. I held the same position, as did my colleague Braçe. Then a second vote was held, that we will vote for the new territorial division as a parliamentary group.

From that moment on, I didn't speak anymore, I obeyed the parliamentary group. As one obeys when working in a certain group. Even if the majority has a different opinion from you, you will join the majority. I obeyed the party discipline, because it was an opinion, an idea, a point of view. No one proves their own idea and point of view. It takes time.

On the other hand, the parliamentary group and the Special Commission had their own opinion. Merging small municipalities with large ones would strengthen these municipalities, in the interest of the citizens. You cannot be sure that your idea or those of the citizens are the ones that will stand the test of time, so I joined the parliamentary group.

No, there was no pressure. I am not someone who is pressured, neither personally nor in any field. I have also heard in some studio where they have linked this issue to business, but I have no fear. My business is among the most regular in this country. I had no reason to be afraid and I did not have any pressure. I had a constructive conversation with the prime minister and the district head about my constructive thoughts. Time will tell if the reform will bring benefits to citizens,” said Sinaj.
