Young people give water to police officers, the chief intervenes: They

An unusual moment was marked on Friday evening on the "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard, where young protesters approached the National Security Police officers with a different message from the clashes of recent days.

On the fourth day of protests in Tirana, a group of young people approached the police to shake their hands and express that they do not consider the police to be opponents of their cause.

“Take off your hats!” the protesters shouted, before singing the national anthem in front of the officers. One of them even handed out several bottles of water to the officers, saying: “I had so much money with me.”

"The police don't need water"
The moment of rapprochement between the youth and the officers didn't last long. A police officer intervened, asking the protesters to disperse or continue the rally peacefully.

"Police officers don't need water," he said.

The young people insisted that they had nothing against State Police officers, distinguishing between the blue uniforms and the target of their protest.

For four days, students and young people have been protesting in the capital, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. This episode brought a moment of rapprochement with the police, in a protest that in recent days has been accompanied by tensions and clashes.
