Two days after the murder of a pregnant woman in Malisheva, another woman has been murdered in Kosovo, this time in Prizren. The victim is an 80-year-old woman, while her 81-year-old husband has been arrested as the main suspect in the crime.

The incident was reported at around 01:30 in the apartment where the couple lived alone. Initially, the 81-year-old had reported the case as an accidental death, but after examining the scene, police raised suspicions that it was a case of murder.

"Based on the initial investigation data, the suspect, BD, is suspected of having deprived his wife of her life, by exercising physical violence, and that the incident occurred within the family," the Prosecution's announcement states.

Suspicions were strengthened after injuries were found on the victim's body in various parts. The 80-year-old's body has been sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Pristina for an autopsy, while her husband has been detained for 48 hours by decision of the State Prosecutor.

According to the Kosovo Police, there had been no previous reports of domestic violence against the couple.

The Prizren case comes just two days after the murder of a pregnant woman in Malisheva, where the victim's husband is also suspected of being the perpetrator. Within a few days, two women have lost their lives, and in both cases suspicions have focused on the husbands.
